hehe, the below pictures are from a random day when Sarah, Carolyn, Jax, Missy, and I went to the mall and tried on random ugly prom dresses. They were hilarious.

Funny!

Ok, I just had this hilarious conversation with JT. I had to share it - it was going to go on my profile on aim, but it was too big. so here it is.
Wigwam363: I truly am a boneless chicken
Etepetete1011: lol
Etepetete1011: boneless chicken tastes yummy. especially with the right kind of sauce. ;-)
Wigwam363: ha
Wigwam363: then i must make a conquest for the most suitable sauce
Etepetete1011: hehe. i suggest barbeque
Wigwam363: hmm
Wigwam363: that is good. perhaps with hickory zest for flava
Etepetete1011: oooooo
Etepetete1011: you are making me salivate
Wigwam363: if i had a nickle everytime ii heard.....wait a second...

Here is a picture of him in january. Hee hee, isn't he cute??  Posted by Hello

Sandbox Contemplations

So today I got to babysit the little boy next door. This kid is one of the cutest kids on the face of the earth! I will post a picture of him after I finish this blog. His mom had to go to a meeting and so I babysat him for about an hour and a half.

When I arrived he was eating a pear outside (he is about a month away from being two by the way - and his name is Martin). Another thing that makes him really cute is that he wears glasses!! Haha! I am serious. The doctor figured out that he has really bad eyesight and so he wears these little baby glasses. He looks like he should be on some kind of baby genius commercial or something. The glasses just add to his cuteness. ANYWAY! He was a little crabby when I got there because he had been woken up from his nap. His mom left and he cried a little but he soon calmed down. Then we went to play in the sandbox. While in the sandbox I contemplated many things - Martin was playing by himself and so I had a lot of time to think.

The first thing I thought about was that I haven't played in a sandbox in a long time. I love sandboxes! They are so much fun!! Except some of the ones in parks because you don't know whats in em, and that is scary. But in general, sandboxes are fun.

I also contemplated how good the sun feels on skin. Why is that? It just fills your entire body with such a fuzzy warm feeling. The sun was setting while we were playing and so I got to bask in the warm sunlight while a slight breeze kept me nice and cool. Ah - what a gorgeous day.

Third thing I contemplated - how old i am getting. This kid is almost two - by the time he is 18, I will be 34! That is scary! I don't want to be that old! It was weird thinking about getting older. Another thing I thought about is going away to college. Martin is going to be so different when I come back to visit! Will he remember me?? He has changed so much in just the past four months - how much will he change in the months that I am away?? That train of thought didn't last long because I wasn't having fun with it.

Next thing I contemplated - my childhood. When I was little the people that lived next door had 4 kids - and they were all about the same age as my sisters and me. We used to play with them every day - and I am dead serious. We would be over at each other's houses EVERY DAY. Those were some fun times. They moved away around 2nd grade - i think. I don't really remember too well - I think I blocked it out of my memory because I was so sad that they moved (they moved about 5 minutes away - but I couldn't just walk over to their house to play - we had to be driven over etc...). Anyway! I was thinking about how much the house has changed since then - especially the yard. The yard used to not be grassy - it was covered in wood chips. I don't know why - that is just the way the yard was. There was also a club house. The club house was so cool. It was in the corner of the yard and one end of it rested on the garage roof. I always wanted to go up in it, but my mom wouldn't let me because the ladder was kinda complicated for a little kid to climb and she was afraid I would fall. All of the big kids would go up there all the time - to get away from me obviously. When I finally did get to go up in the clubhouse I felt SO cool. I was really sad when the people that moved in after them took it down. Another change is the tree. There is this one tree that is in our yard that leans over the fence and into their yard. There used to be a rope tied to one of the branches and there was a knot at the end. We used to swing on that rope a lot. It was so much fun. I remember always being afraid of falling off, so I wouldn't go very high or for very long, but it was fun. The people that moved in after them took down the swing and then the tree somehow rotted and got all hollow and had to be all cemented it and the top was chopped off. It is now just a big tall stump in our yard - a testament to the swing in my mind. There have been a lot of other changes - but I didn't contemplate them while sitting in the sandbox so we won't go into that.

Then as Martin was eating dinner I was thinking about how perceptive little kids are. I was taking a drink of my water and when I started to put it down I hear a little "AHH!" from next to me. It wasn't a scream ahh! but one of the ahhs that you do when you are satisfied and have just had a really refreshing drink. I look over and Martin is watching me with this goofy little smile on his face. Hee hee. He does all kinds of cute little things like that - he always says stuff at the perfect times that always make me laugh. Where does he get this stuff?? This kid is going to be hilarious, i swear.

My last example of his cuteness - when I was leaving he looks at me and waves and says "Bye Kadie!" - in that cute little baby accent where t's are d's and they just sound cute no matter what they say. This kid has me wrapped around his little finger. I swear, that can't be too good. ok, enough contemplations for now.

my weekend

My weekend was really fun. I left school early (and missed art - sad, but hey, i probably wouldn't have done anything anyway because I have finished my art project) and drove the two hours to columbia. That was fun. I like driving on trips - but I think that if they were very long I would go insane. CDs saved my life - that is all I have to say.
In columbia I picked up Paul and we then headed on towards Omaha. We got in to Omaha around 9:00. Read the previous post for a synopsis of that night. Donut stop was really yummy and funny. It has that donut/smokey smell that brought me back to when I was little. Every sunday my family used to go get donuts from this shop about 5 minutes from my house. That place smelled like the donut stop. We stopped going there because the management changed and the donuts got crappy. I miss donut sundays.... oh well. After donut stop we sat around in julia's apartment and talked to her neighbor, Mick. That was fun. We talked about how tired we were and then started naming the steps (step 1 - loss of ability to speak well, step 2- loss of intelligent conversation...) it was kinda funny, mostly because we were all falling asleep. I slept on the couch that night- it was comfy.
The next morning we all woke up, got ready, and left for Des Moines. We went to a mall there - it seemed like the equivalent of West County Mall here. It was a nice mall and we went in J.Crew and American Eagle, Rampage, and a shoe store. I didn't buy anything at those stores because they were expensive and I didn't really need any new clothes. Then we went in Icing and I bought earrings and a necklace for prom. They are cute. I like em. I almost lost half of the earrings because i was trying them on and this one part fell off and I didn't realize it until a few minutes later. oops. But I found the other parts so yay!
Then we left the mall and went on to Ames - where ISU is. We hung out there with Hans, Megan's boyfriend. That was fun. We went out to a mexican restaurant called Carlos O'Kelley's. Or something like that. It was some hispanic name followed by an Irish name. I thought that was just messed up, but the food was good so who cares. After that we went back to the dorm and hung out until it was time for the show.
We then proceeded to the comic show. We got to sit in the 4th row and slightly to the left of the stage. It was so funny!! There were 4 comedians. The first guy was ok, not the best. The second guy was the one that won Last Comic Standing. He was hilarious. Then there was another guy. He was good at first, but he was kinda repetitive and I got tired of him. Then came Dane Cook. He was so funny. He is five times better in person than he is on the dvd. I think they said that he should be coming out with a new dvd this summer of this tour. YAY! That is awesome! If you want details of some memorable jokes etc... just ask me. :) I don't have any pictures :( I didn't have my camera with me and flash photography wasn't allowed anyway. Oh well. I do still have my ticket stub though.
Then we went out to a club - The Boheme. That was cool. The club was really neat (atmosphere wise) but it was kinda hot and smokey. The dance floor was kinda small which made it difficult to dance without getting hurt. The music they played was cool though - it wasn't just the usual club music. After that we went back to the dorm and to bed.
The next morning we woke up and left there, drove back to Omaha. Then Paul and I left there and drove to Columbia. I left there and drove home. I felt like I was in some kind of weird relay race or something. I got home around 8:15. That was good. The drives were rather boring and I won't bore you with details, but again, cds saved my life.
yep. school today was boring. I made 4 more of those writing thingys that I do. hehe. I actually have a little notebook that I am doing them in now. I have 8 pages of them now. I want to fill up the whole notebook. That would be really cool. If I keep working at this pace, I think I might actually do it. Who knows.

Julia's

Hello! I am currently at my sister Julia's apartment. yay. (its in omaha). The drive today was good and rather uneventful. I drove the 2 hours to columbia and then Paul and I drove the 4.5 hours to omaha. It was fun. I liked driving by myself. It wasn't all that bad and it was short. Yay. When we got in to omaha (around 9) we went out to dinner at an irish pub place. That was ok. The music was kinda loud and the lady next to me was chain smoking cigarettes. So I now have a little headache and smell like smoke. lovely. Oh well. The food was pretty good but I was in that weird mood where you are so hungry that you can't really eat anything. So yeah. Then we went back to Julia's apartment (its actually not just hers. She has two roommates - Sarah and Megan). So then I had to try on my prom dress and try on necklaces. I might use em for the prom. I dont know. whatever. lalala. nothing else to say. They are going to take me out to the donut stop now. Supposedly there are donuts there that cost 25 cents. woo hoo. I am excited. I am going to go pig out on donuts. Bye!
