My weekend was really fun. I left school early (and missed art - sad, but hey, i probably wouldn't have done anything anyway because I have finished my art project) and drove the two hours to columbia. That was fun. I like driving on trips - but I think that if they were very long I would go insane. CDs saved my life - that is all I have to say.
In columbia I picked up Paul and we then headed on towards Omaha. We got in to Omaha around 9:00. Read the previous post for a synopsis of that night. Donut stop was really yummy and funny. It has that donut/smokey smell that brought me back to when I was little. Every sunday my family used to go get donuts from this shop about 5 minutes from my house. That place smelled like the donut stop. We stopped going there because the management changed and the donuts got crappy. I miss donut sundays.... oh well. After donut stop we sat around in julia's apartment and talked to her neighbor, Mick. That was fun. We talked about how tired we were and then started naming the steps (step 1 - loss of ability to speak well, step 2- loss of intelligent conversation...) it was kinda funny, mostly because we were all falling asleep. I slept on the couch that night- it was comfy.
The next morning we all woke up, got ready, and left for Des Moines. We went to a mall there - it seemed like the equivalent of West County Mall here. It was a nice mall and we went in J.Crew and American Eagle, Rampage, and a shoe store. I didn't buy anything at those stores because they were expensive and I didn't really need any new clothes. Then we went in Icing and I bought earrings and a necklace for prom. They are cute. I like em. I almost lost half of the earrings because i was trying them on and this one part fell off and I didn't realize it until a few minutes later. oops. But I found the other parts so yay!
Then we left the mall and went on to Ames - where ISU is. We hung out there with Hans, Megan's boyfriend. That was fun. We went out to a mexican restaurant called Carlos O'Kelley's. Or something like that. It was some hispanic name followed by an Irish name. I thought that was just messed up, but the food was good so who cares. After that we went back to the dorm and hung out until it was time for the show.
We then proceeded to the comic show. We got to sit in the 4th row and slightly to the left of the stage. It was so funny!! There were 4 comedians. The first guy was ok, not the best. The second guy was the one that won Last Comic Standing. He was hilarious. Then there was another guy. He was good at first, but he was kinda repetitive and I got tired of him. Then came Dane Cook. He was so funny. He is five times better in person than he is on the dvd. I think they said that he should be coming out with a new dvd this summer of this tour. YAY! That is awesome! If you want details of some memorable jokes etc... just ask me. :) I don't have any pictures :( I didn't have my camera with me and flash photography wasn't allowed anyway. Oh well. I do still have my ticket stub though.
Then we went out to a club - The Boheme. That was cool. The club was really neat (atmosphere wise) but it was kinda hot and smokey. The dance floor was kinda small which made it difficult to dance without getting hurt. The music they played was cool though - it wasn't just the usual club music. After that we went back to the dorm and to bed.
The next morning we woke up and left there, drove back to Omaha. Then Paul and I left there and drove to Columbia. I left there and drove home. I felt like I was in some kind of weird relay race or something. I got home around 8:15. That was good. The drives were rather boring and I won't bore you with details, but again, cds saved my life.
yep. school today was boring. I made 4 more of those writing thingys that I do. hehe. I actually have a little notebook that I am doing them in now. I have 8 pages of them now. I want to fill up the whole notebook. That would be really cool. If I keep working at this pace, I think I might actually do it. Who knows.
