Walking tour

Today was a very cultural day (and its not even half over! Whoa!). Ok so today was the "senior humanities walking tour". For those who don't know - seniors at Nerinx take a semester class called humanities where we have 3 teachers - the drama teacher (Mrs. Ryan), art teacher (Mr. Hunt), and music teacher (Mr. Bell). We have a couple classes with each in which we learn about their form of art from about the greek period up to modern times. It is a pretty interesting class, at times (depends upon which teacher we have). So today was the big field trip where we go and see stuff around the city. This morning during homeroom we got on busses and headed downtown. First we went to the old cathedral - oooh pretty. My camera was spazzing out though. I got new batteries last night, and for some reason it was acting like the batteries were out of juice. I was quite mad at my camera. I did get it to work sporadically and so I did take some pictures (we have to do a photo essay about this thing later...). Anyway, so after the cathedral we went to the courthouse. We saw Carolyn's dad there. He is hilarious. We all call him Daddy Jackson. He works at the courthouse and arch. We all said hi to him and he hung out with us while we were in the courthouse. The courthouse is a pretty cool building. its pretty. Then we walked over the the wainwright building - the first skyscraper in the u.s.! A whole 10 floors!! woo hoo! Quite amazing. After that we headed over to the old post office. That building is cool but we didn't get to go inside - it is being renovated. It was kinda funny when we were standing on the corner by the post office (we were waiting for our busses to come get us) because I was looking around, and I recognized this one office building and I was wondering why it looked so familiar. I then realized that it is the building that I stare at when I am at the dentist. I stare out the window at that office building because there is nothing to look at in the room and the building has cool carvings etc on it. I got a kick out of that, then Carolyn and I talked to Mr. Bell about the benefit concert (he is gonna be in it) and Mrs. Ryan kept trying to be cool and join in the conversation... hehe. So then we went to Powell Hall. We got to eat Krispy Kremes for free because Krispy Kreme was sponsering the symphony. That was really yummy. There were a lot of old people there as well as a group from a public school and some seniors from DeSmet. The symphony was so amazing! I had never heard them before. I loved it! It was really funny because Mr. Bell was in front of us and he was like a kid in a candy shop. He was so excited and then between songs he would turn around and tell us all kinds of things. hehee, he is hilarious. So that was AWESOME! The music was so beautiful and it was so cool hearing the symphony live. The instruments were all amazing and the conductor was really expressive and funny. Then we went back downtown the the main library and then christ church cathedral (both cool buildings). Then we headed over to union station for lunch (sbarros for me) and then wandering for like a half an hour. That was pretty fun because we walked around, called people, watched the fudge guys, read funny tshirts, and watched the people who were going on the bungee trampoline thingys in the middle of union station. Then we were supposed to go to the old cathedral, but we were running late. So instead of just driving back to Nerinx and not even going to the cathedral, they decide we should drive by it. That was so stupid! No one was really even paying attention, you couldn't really see it, and it was an extra 20 minutes out of the way, making us 10 minutes late for the end of school. good job. oh well. so yeah, that was my cultural day. Now I am at home procrastinating about getting ready to go to work. blah. I dont wanna go tonight. Oh well. I need the money.
ttfn!

spring break

Spring break was a blast!! I am too lazy to write everything out but basically i did three things 1)hung out with friends, 2) went to the ozarks for 4 days with 12 of my buddies, and 3)hung out with friends of the family that came in town. I had so much fun!! ah... so many times of laughter ;) I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life - or as much. It was a ton of fun and if you want stories, ask me because, as i said, i am too lazy to write it all here. but i will post some pics i think.

gotta love spring break

ahhhh i love spring break!! its so amazing.
friday i didnt have school so i slept in (yay). Then i went to the zoo with nick, sarah, mikey, dave, another nick, shane, and angela. After the zoo we went for pizza at cicero's in the loop. that was yummy. their food was yummy. then we went back to the park and played with a ginormous frizbee. hehe. then i had to go to work (blah). I (as usual on fridays) sat and read us weekly. I found out that Demi Moore may be pregnant. ooooo gossip. hehe, i dont really care but its fun to look at all of the pictures. Then i drew in my sketchbook. Then I actually had to do some work (start a class). When I got off I went to Nick Susi's house. His house is huge and really nice. The party was kinda funny because i didn't know about half of the people so I felt kinda awkward but it was fun hanging out with the people that I did know. I was the master of spit (the card game...). I was so hyper and I didnt have any other outlet for my energy and so i was going so fast. hehe it was hilarious.
saturday i slept in, again. then i woke up and watched my saturday morning shows. hehe, gotta love em, they are so weird. then Sarah came to pick me up and we went to Borders. We looked at all kinds of metaphysics books. They are really interesting to read and look through. Then we were looking at all this music stuff. Sarah decided to buy the Jimmy Eat World CD and the Kill Bill CD. I wanted to buy the Kill Bill CD too so Sarah and I split the cost and I am going to borrow it and burn it sometime in the near future. Then we went to the awards show thingy for their one-act that Sarah, Miryam, Carolyn, Margaret, and Amanda took to districts. The one-act is called "Haiku" and it is amazing. I have seen it twice - not that i am a stalker or anything, I saw it once when they performed it after school and then they performed it for the whole school during an assembly. Both times I was amazed. You guys did an amazing job! Sadly they didnt get first or second and so they don't get to take it to state. The Parkways got first and second. Blah. Stupid public schools .... grumble grumble. So then we went back to Sarahs. After a few hours of trying to work out plans for the night we ended up staying at Sarah's. First the people there were me, sarah, carolyn, amanda, hovis, keegan, and nick. So we decided to straighten nick's hair. While doing that mike and ella joined us. It was really funny becuase we decided to read cosmo. While sarah was straightening nick's hair, carolyn painted one of his nails (he didnt realize this til later). Then we decided to play a big game of bum, so we went to schnucks and got candy. When we returned ella had to leave and potato (joe) joined us. So we played a few rounds of bum. It was hilarious but I am too lazy to go into details. Then we watched some of the movie Mathilda. While we were watching, Carolyn painted 6 of Nick's nails bright pink (he didnt realize this.... it was hilarious when he did find out though). hhehehehehe. so that was saturday.
today I went to church, came home, showered and ate etc.... then I watched chicago and some of the basketball games while I painted - for art class we have to do self portraits (that are 16X20). It is really hard but fun. I didn't get a whole lot of work done, but what I did do looks good. So then I went to go see Robots with Mikey, Sarah, and Nick. That movie was hilarious. I liked it. Then we went and got Ben and Jerry's ice cream from 7-11. After that we picked Carolyn up from her house and went back to Sarah's. She just got a new car and so we decided to pile in there. The only problem is that it doesn't have license plates yet, so we stayed in her driveway. Amanda and Miryam joined us a few minutes later. We stayed in her car for about and hour and a half, maybe two. It was really funny because we all just sat around talking... all squished into a '91 buick lesabre - its red. So yeah, that has been my weekend. full of lots of laughs. hehehehehhehe
so yeah, again i say - gotta love spring break.
:D:D

ok so this is applause-o-meter! It was projected on the wall during faculty show and it really worked!! hee hee - this is actually a lull in the cheering, but all the times when it was higher I was a little busy watching what was going on and taking pictures. We actually topped 120 a few times. Yep... we are so cool.  Posted by Hello

happy happy happy

Ok so i have a lot to say today! woo. (i am such a dork and didn't want to forget everything that i wrote a little outline thingy... haha! at least I recognize 1) my forgetfulness and therefore i made the outline and 2)my extreme dorkiness)
Ok so school - the classes were only and hour and five minutes long today because of the faculty show (will explain in a moment).
First I had math - which was good but SO LONG!! We learned new stuff but we don't have any homework and the new stuff was really really easy. So that was good.
Then I had humor. (It's actually called humor in american lit, but whatever...) and in that class we just talked about what we read and about how none of us have any kind of an attention span because it was the last day of school before spring break.
So then I had religion in which we just watched this talk show thingy where this guy talked about emotional intelligence (as opposed to intellectual etc...). It was interesting, but that lasted forever too!! I was so antsy today. haha.
Then I had chorus. Chorus was actually the full hour and a half because its lunch block. It was really funny because no one really wanted to sing, at all. And so Mr. Bell played us some songs on his guitar in honor of St Patrick's day (by the way Happy St. Patty's Day and happy 21st birthday to Karen and Kevin - they are two of my cousins). So anyway!! After that he let us watch a movie - heheh we watched some of Spice World. That movie is hilarious - bad dialogue, terrible acting... ahhh. gotta love it.
So then it was lunch time. I got some chips and then sat in the hall outside the eac with about half of the senior class cause we wanted to get good seats for the faculty show. See, each class has a section of the eac that they have to sit in on most occasions but for some reason the underclassmen think they can sit wherever on faculty show day, so seniors have to claim the territory. so i sat and ate my chips.
Then there was the FACULTY SHOW!! This is basically just teachers dressed up in wacky outfits dancing around on stage and making fools of themselves. It is hilarious! So here are some highlights (it is about an hour long by the way). So the theme this year was the movie "mean girls". So there was this scene where the male teachers and janitors did a mock santa dance like they do in the movie. I was laughing so hard! It was hilarious. So then there was also this section about Seussical. They had all kinds of teachers dressed up in the costumes and they sang one of the songs from seussical. Again I was laughing really hard. Then about 10 female teachers came out and did the dance from Napoleon Dynamite. It was amazing!! This one teacher was getting really into it and was actually really good. So then, the finale was amazing. Three teachers came out with umbrellas and were singing the song "its raining men..." and then towards the end of the song they opened up the curtains and about 20 highschool boys jumped out and started dancing around! I was in shock! It was sooooo funny! This was the best faculty show ever!! You kinda had to be there to understand and know all the people as well. But don't fear. I took a ton of pictures and some videos of the whole thing... so just ask me sometime and I will gladly show you. :)
Then after school I had to get stuff to bring home (no homework by the way - unless you count working on my painting for art which isn't required and should actually be pretty fun.) So I go down to the art room, get my palette, paint, and paintbrushes. I walk halfway to my car and realize that I have forgotten something crucial - THE PAINTING! so I had to walk all the way back and get it. Ahh - i love my forgetfulness.
So then I went home, ate, and was lazy. Ahh, gotta love spring break.
But then I had karate. Karate was fun, but it was a workout. I got hurt a lot this class. We stretched out and I had to be on the wood, which isnt bad until we have to do pushups - on our knuckles. Lets just say that that wasn't pleasant. Then I had to do rolls on the wood. Take into account that i haven't done rolls in about two weeks AND I haven't done rolls on the wood in months. That was kinda painful but not too bad. I think i am going to have some bruises on my hip and shoulder and then a sore neck. But hey, whatever. I actually did some good handstands though! I would get up and stay up but then not be able to roll out (which is frustrating). I did roll out once though, and it was pretty smooth!! YAY!! So the next thing we did that was painful is punches and blocks. Basically you are with a partner and you punch them as quickly as you can (but not too strong) and they have to block as strongly and quickly as they can and then they punch back etc... etc... etc... This doesn't seem to bad until you have been doing this for 5 minutes and they keep hitting the same place on your arm... yep... my arm is pretty sore now. Then we did ippon kumite which is basically like freestyle fighting with specific attacks. For example the first attack is always a punch to the head and you defend however you like. Then the attacks go on to a punch to the stomach, forward kick, side kick, roundhouse kick, back kick, slide punch, and slide reverse punch. This is cool but hard because it is really hard to think of good things to do on the spot. I of course had to work with this really really good black belt. He has a tendency of being really rough. Which isnt so much fun when you are already kinda sore. so he did this one take down where he hooked my ankle, but he kinda caught my ankle and twisted it, which didnt feel so good. Then he did this other attack where he does an elbow to the back of my neck, and he came down harder than i expected and my neck was still kinda sore from earlier so ... yeah.. ow. But hey - i didn't complain which is good! YAY! I am getting more used to getting hit etc... which is good cause i used to get teary when I would get hit and that makes me feel really dumb. so yeah, no tearing this time. yay! Then we worked on breaking boards. This is really fun, for a short time. Your hand starts to tingle after a while. I break them with my open hand still (its the way people from 10-16 do it because their hands are still developing and punching boards etc.. can screw up growing bones). I am scared to punch - it seems more painful even if it may be easier to break the board. We didn't actually work with real wood boards today - just the plastic ones that have the little interlocking thingys so you can put it back together after you break it. These vary in difficulty from about 1/4 of a board to 2 boards. I actually broke one that would be about a board and a half today! Thats the highest I have ever gone! YAY!!! So I was pretty excited about that. then class was over. Dont get me wrong, I love karate and its fun but it can be hard (note: i didnt talk about all the stuff we did in class today, its not like i went and got beat up, we did other stuff in between which wasnt painful...).
So then I get home and I sit down at the computer. I was like - hey I will update my blog! So I open explorer and its like "you have a new email!". I thought it would probably be some stupid ad or something but it was a letter from Bettina!! That made my day!! I havent heard from her in so long! YAY!! (In case you didnt know/dont remember Bettina is my german penpal). YAY!!
ok, so i am really done now. I think i am going to go play some sims and relax cause guess what - ITS SPRING BREAK!!! WOO HOO!!!!

(p.s. yay for long blogs!!! hehehe)
wow- that took me 33 minutes to write! woo.

Art...

Hello. Today at school was weird. I did basically nothing - haha. The classes were only an hour because of the late start and there was also a pep rally for spring sports at the end of the day. Sleeping in was nice. I love late starts - especially when they are every wednesday. In homeroom we got this month's issue of hallways (the nerinx newspaper if you didnt know). That was interesting. There are always some good articles to read. There was one explaining the whole St. Stanislaus situation and there was another article about how the public is all on the side of St. Stanislaus and how the archbishop should listen to the people and not think about the money etc... Then there was this weird editorial about how the nerinx students should pay more attention to the uniform rules. It was weird because this lady was an alum and she was talking about how we shouldn't be allowed to wear pants, shorts, and SWEATSHIRTS!! She was like - the school is air conditioned - why wear shorts. The school is heated why wear pants?? For the most part, people do wear skirts and I don't know why it is so bad that we can wear shorts and pants. Then she started complaining about sweatshirts saying that they look horrible on girls and should only be worn when a person is working out. I live in sweatshirts. I rarely wear anything else! I was like "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT??!?!?!" So this lady is basically telling us that we should adhere to the dress code - but the funny thing is that it says, in the dress code, that we can wear shorts, pants, and sweatshirts. So i was really confused. She was also saying that we should go to the council and bring up these issues as if we were on her side! I was like, um... you are never going to get people to give up our shorts, pants, and sweatshirts! I think she is insane. So after reading hallways i went to art. Art was good. I painted - and my hands have lots of black and white and gray paint on em. Then there was contact where I had to go to an outreach meeting and then a meeting about ozarks for spring break! I am so excited about the ozarks!! WOO HOO!! cant wait. so then i had free, in which i worked on my painting some more and almost ruined it! I was trying to fix some things but I wasn't doing a very good job of matching the colors and i almost had a mental breakdown - ask carolyn, she was there. Then I tried to help her think of ideas for the tshirt for the benefit concert. Anyone got any good sayings?? we need em by saturday. then i had german - in which we watched more of "Das Boot". It is about a german u boat during world war two. It is really cool, but we have to have subtitles because they use a lot of words we don't know. Then i had lunch - we ate outside. It was nice to be able to sit outside again. Then I had humanities in which we talked about Amadeus and then talked about this insane project we have to do for our final exam. So, i didn't do much today, and the stuff i did do was rather artsy (hence the title of this blog) and I HAVE NO HOMEWORK! woo hoo!
can't wait for spring break - one more day (and that day has hour classes because of the faculty show - more on that tomorrow! YAY!!)
ok - gtg check on dinner - gotta make sure its not boiling over or something.
bye :)

one year!!

woo hoo! So i just realized that i have had this blog for one whole year!! (well, actually, one year on the 18th but whatever - same thing right?). It is kinda cool to be able to look back over the past year and read all of the really random stuff i wrote. Times when I was hyper, stressed out, sad, just kinda blah.... yeah.
I really don't know why I am blogging today. I seriously have little to nothing to talk about. I had school (which was boring so i dont think i will even bother telling you about it. but maybe that is what i will resort to if i have nothing else to say.)
yeah... i have nothing else to say so here goes my rambling about school. So i actually woke up on time today (ok, so i really hit the snooze button once, but i plan for that when i set my alarm - it is sad that i am at that point isnt it?). I had toaster struedel for breakfast - cherry flavor - mmmm. I got to school and I actually got one of the good spaces (you know the ones right on big bend across the street from school... oh yeah!)!! WOO HOO! I wandered around school doing random things til morning show. I worked camera two today - thats the camera that is on the live announcements - not the anchors. that was good - nothing too complicated today. First class I had chorus. That was fun. We sounded ok today - the sopranos are improving and sounding louder which is good because we are alto heavy. after that was contact. I had an outreach meeting I had to go to. That was good. Then i had pre-calc. That was really boring. i came really really close to falling asleep three times. I had to force myself to wake up and semi pay attention - which is really hard because i understand it like the first time she explains stuff and then she has to explain it a lot more in depth so other people get it too. Then I had my first humor in american lit class. that was ok. the teacher gets on my nerves sometimes - but hey, i will live. its fourth quarter. last i had christian life. we watched a news story thing and then talked about it. I would ramble about the discussion, but i don't feel like it right now. too sleepy. then i came home, did homework, ate, and i am now presently seated here - typing this. yep.
nothing else to say.... lalalala.
oh! last night i finished "the wedding". its the sequel to the book "the notebook" (yes - it the movie was based off the book. - the book is better. the movie changed some stuff). the wedding was sweet and cute. i liked it but i am at my limit for romance like novels at the moment. so i am currently reading "the restaurant at the end of the galaxy" the sequel to "the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy". Good books. read em.
Oooh - garden state. That was a really good movie. I would reccommend it to anyone. - no i am not insane and random things dont just pop into my head- i thought of that because i am currently listening to the soundtrack. exquisite soundtrack by the way. really good relaxing and being lazy in general music.
hmm..... what else should i talk about??
oooo - i have a cold. again. yes. it is stinky. I had that one cold basically from the beginning of december all the way into late january. it finally went away and then during the second week of february it came back! Grrr!! It isn't as bad as the first cold was, in any stretch of the word. the last cold was like i was on my deathbed (or at least i sounded like it) and this cold is just more of a slight cough. but still IT WONT GO AWAY! I am pumping the vitamin c and still it stays. grr... at least now it has been reduced to a slight scratchy throat in the morning and stuffy nose.
yeah... enough about my health....
lalalalala. i think i am done for the day. enough random news.
bye! :)

14.3.05

so...

haha, its been a while. i dont really have much to say at the moment. i am sitting at school during my free period. today is a weird schedule because we have some dumb assembly. i dont wanna go, but i would get a whole bunch of crap if i skipped it. this morning we had a pep rally instead of morning show. who has a pep rally on a monday morning? seriously?? it was pointless. mil (the gym teacher) just wanted us all to cheer for the basketball team who got 4th at state. we could've done that on the morning show. geez. AND the improv people had a really awesome video to show but they couldnt show it because of the stupid pep rally. AND my free was supposed to be an hour and a half today because it should have been lunch period but NO! it is only an hour because lunch was moved back a period - so now german is an hour and a half and my free is only an hour! GRRR!! blah. crappy morning. but then i had humanities first period and we watched the end of amadeus (I love that movie - its hilarious). that took the whole class period (because it was only an hour b/c of the shortened period). then i had art. art was awesome because i worked on my self-portrait. it looks cool so far, there are some parts that irk me but i can always fix those later... hopefully. so that was an hour and 5 minute class. then there was contact, where i basically wandered around school aimlessly for 20 minutes. lalala. now i have free and i was sleeping on the floor, then i decided to go tell the counselor that i decided where i am going to college (xavier) but she was in a meeting, so i went back to lay down. Then carolyn and i went to look at their freak of a pie - its pi day (3.14) and our school gives ex. credit to people who make "pi" pies and bring em in on pi day. Carolyn, Jacquelyn, Sarah, Amanda, and Hovis bought a baby pool and decided to cover the bottom in graham cracker crumbs and then pour pudding over it. it fills the bottom of the pool = and there are sprinkles on the top. people can buy the pies for $3, and of course they bought their own pie and we are going to have a feast at lunch. yummy. can't wait. :)
lala, so carolyn is pretending to study spanish, but she is really messing around with her website and laughing at all the stuff. ahhh reminiscing. hehe
10 minutes left in free....
lalalala
dont know what else to say. im leaving now. bye bye.

I HATE COUGHING!!

So I am really really tired of coughing. I have had a cold for who knows how long (i have had a slight cold for a while now, but it has been bad for about a week - i think....). I haven't had much of a voice since last friday. It is getting annoying!! I wanna be able to sing along to the radio again without having a couging fit or forcing myself to stop because i sound so terrible!! its sad. oh well. So how is everyone?? I dont really know why I am blogging because i really have nothing to say (i always say this and then i end up writing a humongous blog about absolutely nothing, probably boring the masses of people that read this thing (being me and the one or two other cool people out there....)). ANYWAY!!
So today I had four classes, like usual. But - three of them were for the last time! yay! I am slightly sad to see the end of one class - innocence and evil - because it was cool. We read poems about all kinds of stuff and then we would dissect the poems and have huge discussions. it was cool but i was getting a little tired of the class. I also had my last advanced mythology class. that class was terribly boring and so i am quite joyous that it is over!! the other last class was politics. I AM SO GLAD ITS OVER!! yay!! hahahaa. ok. enough rejoicing. I also had german, but that is a yearlong class - so it is not over, in any sense of the word. tomorrow i have my last anatomy class, which is kinda sad but kinda not because i like it a lot, but at the same time i am ready to move on to something else. I am excited because i pick up drawing and humanities. I also pick up two religion classes, which will be interesting because they are right in a row. woo. ok.
what else can i talk about...... hmm.......
oh!! I got ALL of my christmas shopping done yesterday!! I was so proud of myself!!! I also didn't spend as much as i thought i was going to and i bought a present for someone i didn't think i was going to! YAY!! So that is really really fun. I like shopping because it sometimes puts me in a good mood (yesterday it did because everyone was in a good mood and there was christmas music playing..... ahhh....). so yesterday I had a really good day. i was quite content.
yep, ok i think i am done rambling. that is basically all that is on my mind. all of my streams of conciousness are on this page at the moment (get the allusiion to the title? haha) ok. i am done.

so...

Hi!! Sorry that it has been so long since i last blogged. I haven't had much to say/i have been busy. I know that seems like an oxymoron, but really life has just kinda been full but i haven't had much to say about it. Life is going really good right now. I am having a blast with my school buddies. We have lots of laughs. School is going good right now - grades are good, low stress levels... its all good. By the way, may i say that i love open campus. It is so nice. I got to sleep in until 9:15 this morning because i had free first. I didnt have to be at school until 10:15. that was amazing. So i had to work today. that was good.
Guess what! I may be getting a cell phone soon! I am really really excited. I have wanted a cell phone for a while now and I always told myself that I would wait until college. Well that has changed because I often think about it when i am driving. For example, what if i had car trouble or what if i got into a car accident?? I would have to walk to the nearest exit to find some telephone, but what if I didn't have money for a payphone? So that worries me and that has been on my mind a lot especially since Beth and Pat got into a car accident last weekend. Also another part of that is what if mom and dad need to get a hold of me but they don't have phone numbers to reach me? Then also, there are many times when I am going to a friend's house and i am afraid i will get hopelessly lost and not know where I am going. That is my main reasoning behind getting a cell phone. I think they are nifty. :) Julia is gonna take me shopping for one when she gets back to STL for christmas. YAY! hehe
So I really need to get back to homework (i have a huge politics test tomorrow - i have to know all 27 amendments of the constitution, all 8 of the officials of the executive branch of the mo. gov along with their requirements, responsibilities, and salaries, as well as mo history, and i have to be able to label a mo. map with all kinds of stuff.) so yeah, i have to go.... bye :):)

Seussical!!

ok so seussical is basically my life right now. It is so much fun. The entire cast and crew is made up of some of the best people. They are all my buddies!! I love it! eeee. Ok, so right now you are like "what is seussical??". Seussical is a story that takes a lot of the dr. seuss stories and puts them in play form. there is this kid jojo (a guy in the play, but played by a girl in ours.. haha) and he/she has a lot of unique "thinks" or imaginations. So he meets the cat in the hat and they go on this whole big adventure which includes amazing maysie, gertrude, horton the elepant, the wickersham brothers, and of course the whos. It sounds like a stupid little kid story but it is really really awesome. the music is amazing - its really jazzy and funky sounding. the dancing is modern and a ton of fun to watch. the set is hilarious. (I am on set crew). I am having so much fun. I have been at school so much working on the play (working my booty off -- seriously i have no booty anymore) but it has been so much fun hanging out with all of my friends so much. yep. you should all come see it. this weekend on fri and sun and next weekend fri-sun. if you want tickets call me or whatever. or call school. you know. yeah. I will be there every performance but the friday ones (gotta work. blah). so yeah. that was basically a commercial. haha. whatever.

28.10.04

i feel old!

blah... Tom and I were just talking about Peter's new blog (haha - hi peter!!) and in it Peter mentioned getting a permit! YOU AREN'T OLD ENOUGH!! YOU ARE STILL IN 6TH GRADE!! (ok, not really i know, but geez..... you aren't that old yet are you?). so yeah we were talking about that, and it was funny.
another thing - the entire world is off of school on monday except for nerinx!!! for some reason nerinx is a butt and decided to not let us off the day after halloween!! How inhumane is that? geez. that is not fun. so we have to have our halloween parties on saturday with no fun trick or treaters to tease. isn't that sad. yep. i am sad. you should be sad too. so yeah... that stinks.
life is busy. i am too lazy to write about how busy it is. its just busy. lots of stuff going on. yep yep. ok... too lazy to write more. yep. bye

21.10.04

all i have to say is....

WE WON THE NLCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11.10.04

yay!

Guess what today is!!!!! ITS MY BDAY!!! I just had a conversation with Nathan. He called because he saw my away message that its my bday! hehe. hes funny. It was fun talking to him cause i haven't talked to all my yg friends in forever! You all left me! (yes even you Tom - you and your cross country... tsk tsk tsk...). Anyways...... :):)
Sana - thanks for calling! You are so cute! hehe, I would've called you back but I can't call long distance on the regular phone and my mommy has the cell. I will call you back when she gets home.
anyways... saturday I had a party with all my school buddies and some of my sluh buddies that hang out with my friends. It was fun. We ate pizza, hung out, played spoons and egyptian ratscrew, and gamecube games. I got some fun presents. Yay!! On sunday I did a ton of hw and then Beth and Pat came over. They gave me Pirates of the Carribean! Yay! I love that movie!!! :):):):):):) Tonight mommy and daddy took me out to dinner at Zia's. It was really yummy but I was not hungry because I had a big lunch (i had free during lunch period so I went and go take out from Webster Wok. Yummmmy!!!). Today at school was fun too. I was in a good mood all day on a day on which I probably wouldn't have been in such a great mood (two tests and a big project was due). Oh well. It was fun. After dinner mom and dad gave me a down comforter. Its so comfy!!! It is light blue on one side and then blue striped on the other. It makes me all warm and cozy outside and all happy inside ;).
So life is good at the moment. When I got home from school I checked the answering machine and it was my Grandma!! She called to sing me happy birthday!! she was so cute! I just wanted to fly to Buffalo and give her a big hug and kiss! GUESS WHAT! She is coming into town on Wednesday!! YAY!! I am so excited. She is staying for a week. fun fun fun!! Unfortunately I have school - blah. but o well, I am so excited! EEEEEE!!!
ok, I have to go now.
bye byeee!!

:)

So nothing is really happening at the moment. I am just sitting here doing this blog with a towel wrapped around my hair. What's with the towel you ask. Well, i shall tell you. i got home from karate about 40 minutes ago and i took a nice shower. i didn't feel like having wet hair around my face so it is all wrapped up in the towel on my head. yep. you thought it was gonna be some interesting explanation didnt you. haha, i tricked you. So i haven't done much lately. I have basically lazed around at home doing homework. Ohh, i got my paycheck last night - $172!! That is record for me because i subbed for a girl twice and i had to come in 45 minutes early on two occasions. so that was cool cause i was like, oooh money. It is always nice to have the assurance of making your own money. yeah... anyway. my muscles are tired. yesterday at karate was a really hard workout class. we did a lot of sparring. It wouldn't seem like it but your arms get really tired because it takes a lot of energy to block a person's arm out of the way so you can punch. then when i had karate today we did a lot more of that sort of stuff. so yeah. that was interesting and now my arms feel like jelly and my fingers are tired. it was really funny last night though because for a lot of the sparring we wear hand pads (not like boxer ones, but they still have a lot of padding on your knuckles etc..) anyway and then we did this exercise where we just blocked and didn't attack and we didn't need the handpads. since we had been working with handpads for so long that night it felt really weird to just be using my hands. so yeah. that was weird. i am all tired. i think i am just gonna sit here and almost fall asleep. gnight.

just kidding, its 1:30 like i could sleep.

yeah, cya later.

oh yeah, something i forgot -
is it weird to anyone else that it is september 11th? that didn't even occur to me til on the way home from karate. I just wanted to pray for all those that were affected by 9/11, especially those that died and their families. It seems weird that it was 3 years ago already. time goes by so fast. it also seems weird that there aren't any big commemorative things like there were the other years. I was thinking about that the other day. I was thinking about how september 11th will always stick out in my mind and whenever i hear that date my mind twitches or something, it like sparks something in my mind for a second. i was thinking about how someday my kids will just see it as any other day, like the day pearl harbor was attacked for our generation. i doubt that most kids will ever be able to tell you the day it happened (Dec. 7th? Am i right?). The fact that Pearl Harbor Day was never really commemorated never bothered me until after 9/11 and i was almost frustrated that there wasn't something for 9/11 this year. It just started me thinking about how i never understood the way those people felt until i had a similar experience. its weird now though, thinking about how much 9/11 has changed our lives. because of it we now have huge lines at airports, a "terror alert system", a paranoia, and a war. It is weird because in politics we were talking about the past election and how Gore would have won had it not been for the electoral college (had it just been popular vote). I was thinking about where we would be today if he was prez? 9/11 probably would have still happened. But would the war have? Would Gore have had the same reaction as Bush? Would he have implemented the same tactics? It is weird to think about what could have been.

ok enough rambling. :)

YAY!

I just finished my paper! WOO WOO!! Now I just have to pick up the pictures and make them look scrapbooky. :)

So... old news.

Hi. I have decided to blog about hey day even though that was last weekend. When I tried to post it, my blog wasn't working. so here you go (this is copy/pasted from an email to a friend so bear with me....)
Friday was Hey Day at my school. Hey day is awesome because it is the big "lets embaress the freshman/worship the seniors day" so it is so much fun. First the seniors hang out in the gym and practice these dances (i will explain in a moment) while the frosh and juniors eat breakfast and the juniors dress up the frosh in funny outfits, and the sophomores watch a movie. Then the juniors have a parade with their freshman where they do little routines for the seniors where they sing a lot about how cool we are and how much they love us (there is a lot of bowing and screaming during this part). Then there is a scavenger hunt for the soph and frosh people while the juniors and seniors hang out in the gym. Then there is a pep rally for the fall sports. After that is lunch. The seniors buy the freshman lunch from a place in the area of school (subway for me) and they bring it to school that morning and we eat lunch with out little sisters (not biological - our school pairs us up with a freshman and they are our little sis). Then we all go in the auditorium and we have what is called beanie dances. The seniors go up on stage in groups of about 10 and do a dance to a song that they have been practicing etc.... so the dances are pretty cool and range from songs from "rocky- the time (or maybe it was age) of the tiger" to "lady marmalade" to"zero to hero" from hercules. It is absolutely hilarious because then a group of freshman has to come up on stage and do the dance with the seniors. It is so funny because some of the freshman are so embaressed and others get so into it. My group chose to do zero to hero and our dance was awesome - we got lots of cheers. Ask me and i will do it for you sometime :). I was so hyper after that. Then we go home. Its such a fun day. It gave all the seniors a huge power trip and I am now hoarse from screaming and cheering so much. Oh - one more thing - the seniors get no sleep the night before. We all throw parties the night before and get very little/no sleep so we are all slap happy and hyper the entire day. At the party the night before Ella braided all of my hair in little braids so that was fun. Then I went home and went to bed. I was tired. I woke up around 5:30 and had dinner and then went to this huge mixer at SLUH. Mixers are hilarious. I usually don't go to them but this one is tradition because it is the hey day mixer. So all the nerinx girls wear their shirts (oh one thing the juniors all wear wife beaters with the word "junior" on the front with their year (06) and some nickname on the back. Seniors wear baseball tees with "senior" and 05 and a nickname on the back). So its really funny. The mixer was pretty fun because it is inside and outside. There was a tent outside and it was in the gym inside. There are a ton of people that come to this thing. 7,000 kids i think is what they said - i might be totally wrong, but that is what i vaguely remember someone saying.... So its pretty amazing. Then I went over to a friends house for a little while to hang out. That is when I took my braids out. My hair was really poufy and kinda crimpy, it looked hilarious. Then I went home and went to bed at 1:30am and didn't wake up til 1:45pm. haha. :)

ok that is the end of the hey day talk. that was so much fun. i loved it. Then there was this week of school where we have to start wearing our uniforms (which isn't too bad, i don't mind much) but the workload picks up as well. This year instead of having a lot of homework we have more duties. For example we have to do college applications (done!! thank you very much!), then we have to work out our career shadowing, then we have to apply for open campus, then we have to do some national honor society crap, then we have to do a huge senior service packet (complete with a research paper). And of course MOST of this is all do on Tuesday the 7th. So all the seniors are about to tear our hair out over all the stuff we have to remember to do.

speaking of hair - i got a new straightener today. My old one is kinda blah because it is metal and the good ones have ceramic plates that heat up. so that was cool. It wasn't too expensive either. so of course I straightened my hair. :) yeah...

oh my goodness! I can't believe I forgot to complain about this. ok. so earlier i talked about the beanie dances. Well the freshman get beanies (you know the little hats with propellers on top) and they have to wear them all week (which was this past week) all day. If a senior catches a froshie without their beanie on then the senior can make the freshman bring them food (i.e. make me brownies). So that is pretty awesome - right? WRONG! This year the freshman were really mean about it. The seniors weren't even being as predatorish as they have been in the past. The freshman were really snooty and most of the seniors didn't get the food they asked for (its a freshman duty - we had to do it as freshman, now you have to do it!). Also the teachers were being really non-cooperative and whenever freshman were in a classroom the teachers were like "oh this is a beanie-free zone". I understand saying that in the middle of a class, but before the class has even started or after the class has ended why can't the seniors come in to catch people? Also - freshman have to wear their beanies all day- they aren't supposed to take them off. They ALL took them off during classes - even if their teachers would bring them outside for classes. I was so annoyed! The teachers aren't supposed to let them take their beanies off. So the only time you could catch them was at lunch and in the halls. do you know how hard that is? there isn't much time in between classes to catch people and there are no freshman eating senior lunch (that would be suicide!). so it was kinda stinky. I ended up not catching anyone. that was sad. my friends were pretty good at catching people though, so i just begged brownies from them. My last thing to add is that the freshman can make some pretty good brownies.

so that is all. i am done now. sorry for ranting and babbling and rambling your ears off. cya.
